Lithuania

1 January New Year's Day
16 February Independence Day
11 March Restoration of Lithuania's Statehood
1 May Labour Day (not a bank holiday)
6 July Day of Statehood (Crowning of Mindaugas)
15 August Assumption of the Blessed Virgin1
1 November All Saint's Day
25 December Christmas Day
26 December Boxing Day
1 The Government does not report this holiday, but it is listed by the National Stock Exchange.

The National Stock exchange of Lithuania shows holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday moved to the Monday following, but the Government reports that this is not the case. The Exchange also reports that in 2000 the working day following 6 July (which was a Friday) was shifted to the 1st of July (the Saturday preceding) and the working day preceding the Assumption (a Monday) also to the Saturday preceding). The same is, however, not the case for All Saints Day 2001, the working day following which will be a Friday.
