Carnival

Spain’s festivities in Cádiz and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Isles)
are spectacular, where Carnaval brings several weeks of parades, fancy
dress and general good times. Specially in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the
party rivals the Rio Carnaval.

Semana Santa is one of the most important celebrations in Seville,
with penitent processions winding through the streets from Palm Sunday
until Easter. Most of the cities have also processions.

Catalonia

Celebration of the patron saint of Catalonia and Day of the Book. The
legend tells that once a knight named Sant Jordi killed a dragon to save
a princess, and that from the blood of the dead beast grew a rose that
he gave to the lady. Today, every year all the streets get colored with
countless posts that sell roses and books.
Besides, other events are organized at the same time to celebrate it.
