than 50 shops and stalls sell everything from herring and sausages to
embroidery and hand-painted ornaments. The Skansen open air museum also
puts on a traditional market, with a special exhibition on Swedish
Christmas traditions over the centuries.

including the establishment of civil rights and liberties.
