Inclusion
The Strategy for inclusion in the program of young people with fewer opportunities will continue to be implemented in 2004. The working group on inclusion will meet in spring 2004 to discuss the achievements to date and any necessary changes to the strategy for the second term of the program.
Following the recommendations of a large number of program countries, the focus will be on examining the feasibility of additional support for preparation and follow-up, co-ordination and best practice exchange and a possible flexible approach to procedures.
Two of the priorities under Action 5 call for large-scale projects for 2004 (DG EAC 17/03) explicitly referring to social inclusion:
- Projects using sports and outdoor education as a tool for social integration and non-formal education
- Projects for the inclusion and empowerment of young people with fewer opportunities by using the different instruments of the YOUTH program and by developing and implementing new creative approaches in this field.
