Note: the source of this information is the Belarus Embassy in
the United States. Keep in mind that there might be some changes in the
conditions and the prices if you want to get your visa in a European
Country. Eurotool will add this information as soon as possible.
To obtain a visa you need to bring the following
documents to the Consular Section of the Embassy:
Your valid original passport
(containing at least one blank page available for the visa) or "Permit
for Reentry" or "Refugee Travel Document".
One professional passport size photograph
(color or black-and-white).
If you apply by mail, a completely-addressed
stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill (Express Mail, UPS or
Airborne), bearing your postal account number and showing yourself as
both shipper and recipient regardless of delivery address. Waybills
marked "bill sender" or "bill credit card" will not be accepted. If you
fail to follow the above mentioned requirements, your visa application
will not be processed.
A money order or a cashier's check for visa
processing issued to the Embassy of Belarus. Normally visas are issued
in 5 business days. In this case the visa processing fees are (effective
December 9, 2002, USA):
100$ for single-entry visa;
200$ for double-entry visa;
300$ for triple-entry visa;
350$ for multiple-entry.
There is also a possibility to get a visa the next
business day. In this case the visa processing fees are (effective
December 13, 2002):
180$ for single-entry visa;
380$ for double-entry visa;
580$ for triple-entry visa.
The total fee for visas issued to children under 16
years old is 100$.
A letter of invitation. All applications
for a Belarusian entry visa must be accompanied by an invitation (type
and form of invitation depends on the type of visa requested).
For a business visa A letter of invitation from an agency, company or organization in
the Republic of Belarus, which is registered as a legal entity by the
Belarusian authorities. A letter of invitation that may be faxed to
you should be made on an official letterhead and should have a
signature of the head of a company as well as a corporate seal. It
should also contain an indication about the period of your expected
stay in Belarus. A company has to pledge to provide to the invited
person full support during his stay in Belarus including all possible
medical expenses. Multiple-entry business visa requires confirmation
from the MFA of Belarus.
Tourist visa A copy of the tourist voucher and a copy of the confirmation from
Belarusian hosting tourist organization. Hosting organization should
be registered as a tourist company by the Belarusian authorities. This
registration number should be indicated in the confirmation.
Visas for private visits An original invitation (not a copy). Your relatives or friends
should obtain invitation (“zaprashenne”) for you at the local passport
and visa office of the Ministry of Interior and send it to you. In
case of emergency (unexpected illness, death of the relative, etc.)
visas can be issued upon submitting a certified cable from a doctor or
a clinic in Belarus.
Transit visa
A visa (or copy) for the country you are traveling from/to via
Belarus. In case of traveling to countries with no entry visa
requirements - copy of the ticket, itinerary from your travel agency
or any other document confirming your trip to the appropriate country.
NOTE: Effective May 1st, 2000, transit visas will be required for all
travelers heading to Russia or other New Independent States via
Belarus (even if the traveler has valid Russian visa or visa of other
NIS state).
After arriving to Belarus please report
information about the address and duration of your stay to the local
passport and visa office.
Effective October 1st, 2000, medical insurance
will be required for all foreign citizens traveling to the Republic of
Belarus.
