Romania - Obtaining a visa

From 1 January 2001, citizens of all EU countries (including Great Britain) do not require a visa to enter Romania for a period of up to 31 Days.

•  Citizens of the following countries do NOT require a visa to visit Romania:

For a stay of up to 30 days: EUROPEAN UNION (incl. GB), Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, FYROM, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Yugoslavia

For a stay of up to 60 days: Turkey

For a stay of up to 90 days: CIS (except Estonia), Cyprus, Belarus (Letter of invitation required)

•  For all other nationals including those of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa & Japan, tourist visas may be issued within 24 hours by the relevant Romanian Embassy in the country of their residence.
   
•  Holders of FULL passports issued by the appropriate authorities in the countries listed below can obtain a SINGLE ENTRY VISA upon arrival at ANY Romanian Border Entry Point:

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Singapore, Switzerland, Uruguay, Venezuela

•  Multiple Entry Visas and Employment Visas are available only at Romanian diplomatic and consular posts abroad.
